Almost all Windows and macOS software applications use the Ctrl+S shortcut to save. It is a widely used shortcut key worldwide to execute the specific behavior of saving. In all Microsoft applications, the Ctrl+S shortcut key is used to save a document in MS Word, save spreadsheets in MS Excel, and save a presentation in MS PowerPoint.
